In this class, you'll learn traditional paper piecing techniques while making a beautiful Log Cabin block using the Lori Holt Log Cabin paper piecing papers. This class is perfect for beginners wanting to learn precise, accurate piecing.
You will learn:
β’ How traditional paper piecing works
β’ How to sew directly onto foundation papers
β’ How to trim accurately using the Add-A-Quarter ruler
β’ Tips for crisp, clean Log Cabin blocks
Supplies to Bring
β’ Sewing machine in good working order
β’ Basic quilting supplies (thread, pins, seam ripper, rotary cutter, mat, etc.)
β’ Glue stick
β’ Lori Holt Log Cabin book (with paper piecing patterns)
β’ Add-A-Quarter ruler
Fabric Requirements
We will be making 12β finished Log Cabin blocks.
You will need:
β’ One 2Β½β printed jelly roll
β’ One 2Β½β neutral jelly roll (white, cream, tan, or black)
β¨ We carry printed and neutral jelly rolls in the store.
Homework
β’ Cut fabric for a few blocks before class and mark every piece. The measurements are in your Lori Holt Log Cabin book. Please ask if you need help with the cutting.
